The Ngorongoro hyenas have become one of the world’s best-studied mammal populations. Donations of any amount contribute to the continuation of our research. You can make donations to the Ngorongoro Hyena Project through the SOPA Society, a non-profit organisation founded by Swiss journalist and publicist Erich Gysling and veterinarian Dr. Bettina Klink. The SOPA Society is domiciled in Switzerland and its sole purpose is to support our project.
100% of any donation will be attributed to our project. Donations are used to cover the running costs of our research project and pay for the wages of our Tanzanian assistants and students. Donations are tax-deductible!
Examples of costs of our research project:
70,- Euros would pay for the costs to assign the father to 10 hyena cubs.
100,- Euros would cover our phone and internet expenses for 1 month.
250,- Euros would pay for a new GPS device.
300,- Euros would pay for the fuel and costs of maintenance of the research vehicle for 1 month.
500,- Euros would pay for a suitable pair of binoculars.
800,- Euros would fund the salary + equipment of one assistant for 1 month.
2.500,- Euros would cover the costs to replace our most important piece of equipment, our photo camera with high-quality lens.-
